The Eastern Shore town of Hebron sprang up after the construction of the Hebron Train Depot in 1890 and was named after the biblical city by the railroad's builders. Once the trains passed through freely, the area quickly became a hub for poultry and dairy farms, lumber mills and shirt factories.
