Located on the coast of the Turnagain Arm, Bayshore/Klatt is an aptly named neighborhood that is one of the most desirable in Anchorage. Residents here can enjoy scenic views of the water from their homes or one of the many parks in this established community. "Bayshore began development in the early 1980s and since then, there have been other developments that are very attractive," says Connie Yoshimura, owner and broker of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Alaska Realty. "They have excellent schools. The ground is very good, generally speaking. There are no wetlands. It's a sunny area of town." Known simply as Bayshore among residents, this neighborhood is full of sprawling new traditional homes on tree-covered lots, adding serenity to the area. However, with major highways and daily conveniences nearby, Bayshore is a well-rounded Anchorage neighborhood.

Exploring the coast at scenic neighborhood parks
Several parks in Bayshore/Klatt give residents plenty of opportunities to enjoy the scenery. Carr-Gottstein Park is a hidden gem in the neighborhood that is easy to miss. With no parking and little signage, this park flies under the radar but is a popular place to walk along the coast and take in views of the Turnagain Arm. Just north of the neighborhood, Campbell Creek Estuary Natural Area is a green space with plenty of nature trails and a viewing platform where residents can search for wildlife. The South Anchorage Sports Park is a developed park in the neighborhood with multiple baseball fields, a dog park, paintball fields and a track for RC vehicles. The park also has an accessible playground with several climbing features for kids to explore. Homeowners in the Bayshore subdivision will enjoy access to the clubhouse, which includes tennis courts, walking trails and an event space.
