Easterwood is a tiny community located in West Baltimore situated just south of North Avenue and nestled between the neighborhoods of Coppin Heights and Sandtown-Winchester. A densely populated urban community, Easterwood is primarily comprised of traditional Baltimore row homes in a variety of styles.

Prospective buyers can choose from two and three-storied row homes featuring brick or stone facades. Designs vary from homes set back several feet from the curb, complete with short, terraced stairways leading up to their entrances, or they can opt for homes directly facing the street. Some feature short, roofed front porches and chimneys, while others feature decorative metal and cloth awnings adorning doors and windows. Price Points in Easterwood range from $60,000 to $135,000 depending on the age, size and condition of the property.

For all your daily essentials local minimarts and convenience stores offer quick bites, while additional retail options can be found at neighboring Mondawmin Mall. Pop over to this mall and shopping center to browse the offerings at over 100 stores, grab groceries from the Shoppers supermarket, or nab a snack from one of the area’s casual eateries.

Students here attend Baltimore City Public Schools like Matthew A. Henson Elementary, Rosemont Elementary/Middle and Carver Vocational-Technical High School. Serving over 1000 students in ninth through twelfth grades, Carver High offers both college preparatory course and Career and Technology Education (CTE) pathways. Through CTE, students can earn industry licenses or certifications in more than a dozen pathways, ranging from construction & development skills—like electrical and masonry trades, to health & bioscience skills—like nursing assistant and pharmacy technician roles. For higher learning opportunities, nearby Coppin State University offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate and doctorate degree programs, as does local Baltimore City Community College (BCCC).

For some time outdoors, Easterwood Park offers residents a basketball court, playground and open fields, as well as a local Rec Center. To spend more time in nature, residents can take the CityLink bus to nearby Druid Hill Park for an afternoon of activities. Featuring over 745 acres of recreational spaces, this park offers residents reprieve from city life. Walk or bike one of the area’s trails, enjoy the park’s athletic fields, basketball courts and public pool, or play some disc-golf. In addition to these amenities, the park is also home to the Rawlings Conservatory and the Maryland Zoo. Established in 1888, the Rawlings Conservatory & Botanic Gardens features three greenhouses, two pavilions, a series of outdoor gardens, and all things flora. Nearby, the Maryland Zoo boasts all things fauna. Showcasing a variety of animals from across the globe, you’ll find geographically distinct habitats and species here.

Or for a change of pace, residents can head downtown to the Inner Harbor to enjoy the many restaurants and shops, or simply to walk the waterfront promenade.
