Otay Town residents enjoy being close to both the beach and within walking distance of one of the South Bay area’s largest trail-patterned open spaces. While homes here are a bit older than in west Chula Vista, the city continues to invest in infrastructure improvements. Otay Town offers a large concentration of manufactured home communities. Options range from homes for around $100,000 in Palms Mobile Estates to three-bedroom units built in 2007 in Don Luis Estates for around $280,000. Residents can also find 55-and-older manufactured home communities complete with a clubhouse and pool at places like Hacienda Mobile Estates and Orange Tree. Streets of single-family residences feature renovated 1940s ranch-style homes for around $600,000, as well as larger homes built in the ‘70s for around $650,000. “The neighborhood is well-kept and quiet and filled with nice sturdy homes,” Rodriguez says.

Residents are just steps away from the vast Otay Valley Regional Park, located four miles north of the international border. Montgomery Elementary, Otay Elementary and Castle Park Middle schools serve public-school students in Otay Town, who then move on to Castle Park High, where they can participate in International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs.
