Mountain valley living between Evergreen and Conifer
Situated in the scenic foothills of the Rocky Mountains, Evergreen Meadows offers residents a blend of peaceful mountain living and convenient nearby amenities. Located between Evergreen and Conifer, Colorado, the neighborhood provides panoramic views and abundant wildlife while maintaining suburban charm and access to urban excitement. “I like to joke with people that it looks like something out of a Norman Rockwell painting,” says Kevin Freadhoff, Broker Associate with Berkshire Hataway Home Services and longtime resident of the Evergreen Meadows neighborhood. “People are walking their dogs, kids are out riding bikes…it has the privacy that comes with being up in the mountains, but it’s still a real community.”

Outdoor recreation just a step outside the door
Life in the mountains affords residents immediate and unbridled access to outdoor fun, with the nearby Maxwell Falls trailhead being just one of the many hiking trails that wind through beautiful forestry – with the Maxwell Falls trail ending in a picturesque waterfall. Flying J Ranch Park features even more trails for hiking, along with designated mountain biking and cross-country skiing trails too. A relative lack of fencing or similar obstacles, one of the few mandates from the local HOA, means that wildlife sightings are a part of daily life – with herds of elk and deer regularly strolling through resident yards in the morning. “We live in nature,” says Murphy, in reference to not just Evergreen Meadows, but the entire area. “The trees and the elk are all around us, but we’re still less than 30 minutes from the city – it’s a really great combo.”

Mountain contemporary homes on large lots
Lot sizes are one of the key advantages of buying a home in the area, and Evergreen Meadows homes are typically set on lots ranging from two to five acres. “There’s actual flat land there, since it’s in the valley,” says Delinda Murphy, real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty. “That’s appealing for people looking to build or even for those that just want less maintenance around the property.” Architectural styles range from large custom estates – called mountain contemporary style by locals – to ranch styles and traditional two-story homes. Many homes feature large decks and windows that allow for appreciating the surrounding natural beauty at all times. Prices generally start at around $650,000 and reach up to $900,000 for ranch styles and traditional homes. Large mountain contemporary estates range from just over $1 million to $1.7 million – though some particularly grand homes, usually set on significant acreage, can exceed $2 million. “It’s the kind of place where people stay once they settle down,” says Freadhoff in reference to the sought-after nature of the neighborhood. “There are owners who have been here for decades, and it comes down to that blend of small-town feel and charm.”

Conifer and Evergreen both feature unique boutiques and eateries
The Conifer Town Center and Aspen Park Village shopping center house grocery stores like King Soopers and Safeway, along with restaurants such as Brooks Place Tavern – known for its craft beers and pub fare. Evergreen dining options include the Willow Creek Restaurant for lakeside dining, and the Bistro at Marshdale, a popular date-night spot serving upscale American cuisine. Evergreen’s downtown is home to several unique shops like Black Fox Provisions and The Evergreen Clothing and Mercantile, both of which feature apparel and local artisan goods. “There have been plenty of times where I want to pick up something new to wear to an event, and have no luck in Denver,” says Murphy. “When that happens, I head to downtown Evergreen, because I can always find something cool there.”

Get to Denver in less than an hour
With Highway 73 and U.S. Highway 285 located nearby, Evergreen Meadows residents have straightforward access to Denver and the other Front Range communities – something that helps make up for the lack of public transportation options. The 35-mile trip to Denver typically takes about 45-60 minutes by highway, depending on traffic and weather conditions. The Denver International Airport is just under 60 miles from the neighborhood. Residents of the area need to keep mountain roads and winter weather conditions in mind.
