Quintessential Boca Raton living

The gated communities of Boca Delray blend suburban and country club-style living just north of Boca Raton. Home to an executive golf course and plenty of tennis and pickleball courts, the active community offers ample recreation without requiring residents to pay for annual memberships. “I live in a country club community, and we pay $140,000 to join,” says longtime local Norman Fineman, the broker and owner of Prime Property Associates. “So, they’ve got it pretty cushy – a country club, a nice location and life on a golf course.” The streets of Boca Delray wrap around palm tree-studded fairways and glittering lakes, offering quintessential Boca Raton living less than 10 miles from the beach.

Boca Delray’s 18-hole executive golf course

Boca Delray’s par 60, 18-hole executive golf course wraps around its subdivisions. On Tuesday mornings at 9 o’clock sharp, the women’s golf association meets. The men’s association does the same on Wednesday mornings. While the golf course is private, memberships are not exclusive to residents of Boca Delray proper, so those in Ventura and Monterey Lake can also join. Governor Lawton Chiles Memorial Park is less than 5 miles away. It’s across the street from a local attraction, Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, a historic plot that was once a Japanese colony. Today, the space pays homage to Japanese culture, art and horticulture.
