Commerce and opportunity are abundant in Brookridge

Brookridge is a largely commercialized area, where two main roads intersect with small businesses and fast-food chains, a little over 2 miles northeast of Littleton and 2 miles south of Englewood. Apartments and condos make up most of the area’s housing, and Big Dry Creek flows directly south of the area. “Brookridge offers single-level living, walkability and a laid-back vibe that’s hard to beat,” says Michael “Roscoe” Drabousky, a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker, who has over 30 years of experience. “It’s a great location. You’re close to everything – without traffic or noise.”

Shopping centers and commercial areas along Broadway

At the intersection of Broadway and Belleview Avenue, multiple strip malls are home to various small businesses and services. Brookridge has everything from nail salons and barber shops to storage centers and a dentist. Sprouts Farmers Market is the area’s grocery store. There are also car dealerships and auto parts stores lined along each road. Black-eyed Pea is a regional chain restaurant specializing in southern-inspired cuisine, and Alvarado’s Mexican Fast Food serves authentic dishes. “South Broadway has a laid-back, eclectic food scene with something for everyone. You’ll find coffee shops, breweries and mom-and-pop eateries that make the area feel authentic and community-focused,” Drabousky says. Fast-food eateries in the area include Five Guys, Qdoba and Jersey Mike's.

For more options, the intersection of Broadway and Littleton Boulevard is less than a mile south with King Soopers. Several Mexican restaurants and food trucks are found more west on Littleton Boulevard. Cherry Cricket is a hamburger restaurant and Yummy Station serves Asian fusion.

Navigating Brookridge on foot, bike or car

There are multiple ways of navigating Brookridge. Sidewalks and trails encourage walking and biking around the area. “It’s not urban walkable like downtown Littleton or South Broadway, but it feels safe and very pedestrian-friendly,” Drabousky says. Additionally, Colorado’s Regional Transportation District (RTD) bus services have stops along Broadway, which is considered a main commuter route. Drivers can also use Colorado state Highway 88, known as Belleview Avenue, to travel east and west through the area. When needed, the HCA HealthONE Swedish hospital is a little over 2 miles north. The Denver International Airport is roughly 30 miles away.

Apartments and condos for sale and rent

Available housing options are limited in Brookridge, as single-family homes rarely hit the market. As such, nearly 70% of Brookridge residents are renters. The South Slope Condos Subdivision was built in the 1980s and has units ranging from $230,000 to $300,000. There are also multiple apartment complexes in the area, including Avista Trailside, Greenwood Point Apartment Homes and Trails at Lehow. Monthly rent is around $1,400 to $1,900.

Recreation at nearby parks and on Big Dry Creek

While Brookridge is mostly commercial, multiple parks and green spaces are a quick walk or drive away. The area’s namesake park features a playground, tennis courts and an open grassy field. Cornerstone Park is about a mile west on Belleview Avenue and has three playgrounds, a skate park, a cricket pitch, a mini-golf course and multiple athletic courts. Across the street is Belleview Park, which is home to the Englewood Farm & Train attraction. Visitors can ride the miniature train or see cows and pigs at the petting zoo. Pirates Cove Water Park is also in the area, with pools, water slides and a lazy river.

Big Dry Creek flows directly south of Brookridge, accompanied by the Big Dry Creek Trail – a paved, multiuse path. “It’s a favorite spot for morning walks, stroller outings and evening bike rides. Great for all ages and fitness levels,” Drabousky says.

High rated public schools in Littleton

Brookridge is served by Littleton Public Schools, which offers both open and choice enrollment. Field Elementary School earns a B-minus grade from Niche. Students who live east of Broadway can head to Euclid Middle School, with its A-minus, and those who live to the west attend the A-rated Goddard Middle School. Littleton High School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and receives an A-minus. Another option is Colorado’s Finest High School of Choice, a public alternative high school located on Chenango Avenue.
