A fast growing region
In one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, when brand-new homes are popping up all over the place, the aptly named Eastern Hills neighborhood offers a piece of history in Fort Worth. “It’s a unique, older, established neighborhood,” says Teresa Moore, an associate broker at Wedgewood Homes Realty. This community on the city's eastern side features homes built in the 1950s and 1960s set among tree-covered lots and gently rolling hills. Nader Jichi, a broker with Keller Williams Realty, says Eastern Hills' proximity is part of its charm. “It's in the heart of Fort Worth,” he says. “It’s very close to two major highways. It’s a big draw from people all over the metroplex.”

Lots of mid-century homes
Most homes in Eastern Hills are midcentury modern ranch-style homes. There are modest homes with brick exteriors and more contemporary ranch-style homes with flat roofs. Some homes throughout the community have built-in garages, but they are often on the side of the house, keeping the front looking neat. Mature trees are planted firmly in the spacious front yards, reaching up towards the sky and providing ample shade for the neighborhood. Other homes in the area include two-story traditional houses. There are multiple condo communities as well that offer amenities such as tennis courts and outdoor swimming pools. The cost of housing in Eastern Hills aligns with other nearby Fort Worth neighborhoods. You can expect to pay $275,000 to $300,000 for a three-bedroom ranch-style home. Four-bedroom homes can be found for $360,000. Overall, housing prices sit between $266,000 and $442,000. Nearly 75% of residents own their home. The average lot size is 13,500 square feet and homes are around 2,240 square feet.
