Small-town living outside of Hartsville
Sitting about 5 miles outside Hartsville, Lydia is a little farming community off the highway where land and small-town living takes precedence. "You can get across town in 10 minutes or less during rush hours; we call it rush minutes," says John Bachman, a Realtor with Brown & Coker Realty who grew up in Lydia. Farming is a staple to the community, with many residents accustomed to wildlife around their homes. "I find deer in my backyard all the time," Bachman says. "I've been feeding them for two years, and I get to watch them grow." In addition to the small-town lifestyle, lower prices and access to the interstate and major highways attract homebuyers looking outside of city limits.
