Ultimate upscale suburban living in Southfork
Sandwiched between some of Henderson’s most sought-after areas is Southfork, a gated master-planned community treating its residents to top-notch dining, shopping and entertainment in every direction. And with the McCullough Mountain range to the southeast, this Las Vegas Valley community delivers natural beauty, big-city living and suburban tranquility. “The overall amenities are the big draw here,” says Robert Morganti, Broker and Co-Owner of The Rob Morganti Group, who has worked in the Las Vegas area for over 25 years. “Grocery stores are five minutes away; then you have The District, which has great restaurants and a casino with a pool and movie theater. The proximity to nice schools, shopping areas around St. Rose Parkway, the airport and the Strip are also driving people here.”

Top-notch dining, shopping and entertainment in every direction
Living in Southfork puts a variety of entertainment and dining options at residents’ fingertips. Mothership Coffee or Scrambled, in the northern part of the community, provide quick breakfast options on the go. Padrino’s Gourmet Latin Cuisine, next door to Scrambled along State Route 146, offers hearty paella dishes, ceviche and eclectic Spanish tapas. In the southern part of Southfork at Born and Raised, residents cheer on their favorite sports team while enjoying a pint, bulgogi steak tacos and a double-stuffed Oreo zeppole. Smith’s and Trader Joe’s are conveniently located along South Eastern Avenue, and Silverado Ranch Plaza is west of Southfork, where residents will find PetSmart, Target, Michael’s and HomeGoods.
The District at Green Valley Ranch is 2 miles north. The walkable, cobblestone plaza is a large, airy, upscale shopping and dining destination. The high-end steakhouse Echo & Rig is a local favorite for date night, Lucille’s Smokehouse Bar-B-Que serves up comfort Southern fare and The Local, a cozy wine bar, is a go-to spot for fancy snacks and wine in old light canisters from the iconic Bellagio Fountain. “You can go there for brunch on weekends, sit outside and drink wine or listen to music at night,” says Amelia Keene, Realtor for the Keene Team Las Vegas and Green Valley resident since 1997. “You’ve really got so many options.” The plaza also offers a Whole Foods Market. Green Valley Ranch Resort Spa and Casino is also nearby for those who want the classic Vegas experience without the tourist crowds along the Strip. Residents can head south into Seven Hills to practice their swing at Rio Secco Golf Club or catch the Las Vegas Raiders practice at the Intermountain Health Performance Center. Eight miles east of Southfork is Downtown Henderson, known as the Water Street District, where even more trendy restaurants, entertainment, shopping and celebrations await.

Southwestern-style homes close to schools, parks and restaurants
Homes in Southfork reflect the popular Southwestern style of the Las Vegas Valley, from ranch-style homes to larger, Spanish-inspired properties. “Being one of the first master-planned communities, they really did it up right with beautiful landscaping and amenities,” Morganti says. Most homes were built in the late 1990s and range from $410,000 to $900,000. Townhouses are also available in the Cheyenne at Southfork subdivision, which provides three-bedroom, two-bath condos between $320,000 and $400,000 with access to a clubhouse and pool. Three-bedroom single-family homes range from $420,000 to $600,000. Larger five- and six-bedroom homes can ask between $660,000 and $900,000. Homes in this master-planned community often come with large pools, multi-car garages and driveways large enough for RVs or other toys. Desert-landscaped lots can span up to a quarter acre and feature covered decks and scenic mountain views. Beyond that, residents can easily walk from their homes to parks, trailheads and the elementary school.

Easy access to events and celebrations
Just as a variety of diverse dining and shopping options surround Southfork, so do events and celebrations. Most are held in The District at Green Valley Ranch and Downtown Henderson. One of the most popular is the Art Festival of Henderson, held every year in May at the Water Street Plaza, which offers a juried artist showcase, a chalk art show and vendors.
