Clearwater has a mix of single-family homes, apartments and condominiums. Low-lying ranches and split-level homes are located throughout the neighborhood, often with brick exteriors. Three- and four-bedroom properties range between $200,000 and $660,000. Homes with private docks and luxury interiors can sell for upwards of $2 million. Many condos also provide lakeside views and sometimes boat slips. For condo units between 900 and 5,000 square feet, prices range between $165,000 and $980,000. Sidewalks or slow speed limits create a safer environment for pedestrians in some residential areas. "You'll see people out biking, walking their dogs, families with strollers," says Miriam Odegard, Realtor with United Real Estate Indianapolis.

Clearwater kids learn sportsmanship through youth leagues
Clearwater parks and community organizations encourage exercise and play. Established in 1954, Allisonville Youth Baseball and Softball creates a fun environment for children ages 4 through 12 to learn the rules of the game and play as a team. Established in 1987, the Glendale Soccer Association offers spring and fall programs of varying competitiveness for kids in pre-kindergarten through high school. Both groups practice and play at the Clearwater Elementary School fields toward the center of the neighborhood. West of the neighborhood, kids climb on the jungle gym and cool off under the spray features at Riverwood Park. Public canoe and kayak launches are accessible south of the neighborhood at Broad Ripple Park and the Indianapolis Art Center.

High-quality schools in Washington Township
Clearwater students attend schools in the Metropolitan School District of Washington Township, which earns an A-minus from Niche. Younger students may start at Clearwater Elementary before moving on to Eastwood Middle. Both schools earn a B-plus. Teens can attend North Central High. Niche gives it an A and ranks it the fourth-best public high school in Marion County. In addition to International Baccalaureate and Advanced Placement programs, the high school offers over 20 Career and Technical Education courses to help students prepare for future careers.

Clearwater is close to a wealth of shopping options, from inexpensive home goods to high-end fashion. Walmart Supercenter is located within the neighborhood and has a full selection of groceries. Clearwater residents appreciate being close to the Fashion Mall at Keystone, a city-wide attraction with high-end stores, including Gucci and Lululemon. "In Indianapolis, if you want to go to Louis Vuitton, Urban Outfitters, all the high-end stores, you go to the Fashion Mall at Keystone," Odegard says. Capri Italian Restaurant is one of Indianapolis's oldest locally-owned restaurants, where fresh, hand-made pasta is topped with seafood, marinara and Italian meats.
