A diverse neighborhood on the banks of Crooked Creek

Positioned along Michigan Road near more upscale communities in northwest Indianapolis, Crooked Creek features fewer frills than some of its high-end neighbors, making it more affordable for homebuyers who desire access to amenities and the area's sought-after school district.

Mid-century homes mixed with more modern styles
Crooked Creek's houses are spread along long residential streets with many trees and few sidewalks. While some homes here date back to the 1920s, most were built in the 1950s and 60s. Many are brick-faced, ranch-style homes. Some Colonial Revivals and split-levels with aluminum siding add to the mid-century vibe. There are also a handful of subdivisions with custom contemporary houses built from the 1990s to the present. Most neighborhood homes sell from $125,000 to just under $360,000 with a median price of $242,000. "If that's your price point, you get the convenience of having everything there on Michigan Road, and you still get to send your kids to decent public schools," says Cara Conde, a veteran Realtor and a top-selling solo agent for F.C. Tucker Company in Indianapolis. "That's actually a good selling point if you have kids."

I really like my neighborhood because it is safe and calm. My neighbors are super nice and they wave to us every time they pass by. I have lived here my whole life and there has never been any issues with the neighborhood. I enjoy being able to sell fundraising items and get so much help from my neighbors. They are super helpful and always want to help with fundraising.
