Golf courses galore in south Indianapolis suburb
In Southern Dunes, the sun rises over golf courses with rolling green hills and small lakes where waterfowl like to play. The Southern Dunes Golf Course is the centerpiece of this Indianapolis neighborhood, with 6,615 yards of space to practice a swing. Surrounded by farmland just 10 miles south of the city center, the neighborhood has a sparse suburban feel. Long, winding roads connect subdivisions, schools and green spaces. Yet, it's seen substantial growth in the past 25 years. “Since more people are moving to Indianapolis, new construction is popping up," says Susan Forrest, Realtor with United Real Estate Indianapolis. Families appreciate the space these newer homes allow, with a top-rated elementary school in their backyard.
