Off the beaten path yet still convenient
Palm Beach Country Estates is a planned community that is part of the acreage subdivision trend in unincorporated Jupiter. Each lot is at least 1 acre, and together they are populated by an eclectic mix of custom homes. The neighborhood is laid out in a grid of truncated streets that offers an additional layer of privacy in a rural, commercial-free setting. Yet amid this South Florida escape, residents enjoy proximity to top schools, plenty of shopping and dining and quick access to buzzier destinations. “The large lot sizes are a big draw for a lot of buyers,” says Realtor John Oliver, who serves Palm Beach County for Premier Brokers International. “But the location is also great. You’re close to downtown and plenty of other things, so you don’t have to drive forever to get to work or shopping or anything else.”

High-value homes on large lots in a navigable subdivision
Homes feature an array of architectural styles. Ranch, farmhouse, Spanish Mediterranean, contemporary and Coastal influences can be found. Given that diversity, it’s no surprise that prices occupy a wide range. Mid-sized established homes featuring midcentury designs range in price from the mid-$600,000s to the high $800,000s. Larger custom homes range in price from around $ 1 million for an established home to more than $3 million for new construction. “Homes in Palm Beach Country Estates are some of the higher-priced in the area,” Oliver says. There are no sidewalks, but the grid design allows residents to easily navigate the neighborhood, whose setting is complemented by palm trees and other native greenery. Palm Beach Country Estates offers optional hook-ups to city water. That’s not the case in the neighboring acreage subdivision of Jupiter Farms. Despite its location about 10 miles from the Atlantic coast, the neighborhood is susceptible to flooding and wind damage. These concerns are heightened during hurricane season, and insurance rates are likely to reflect the weather risks.

Jupiter's Downtown Abacoa is just minutes away
Indiantown Road just north of the neighborhood offers several convenient shopping and dining options. Walmart, Publix and Aldi are all located along the commercial corridor. About 5 miles south of the neighborhood is the commercial heart of Jupiter. Downtown Abacoa is a 91,000-square-foot town center anchored by trendy dining options and regular entertainment. The walkable destination is modeled after similar contemporary town centers. “A lot of other communities are trying to do the same thing with their downtown areas,” says Daniel Ramos, a Realtor with Century 21 and native of the area. “They’re trying to create a downtown sector where people can walk and shop and eat.” Regular events include Food Truck Fridays, Think and Drink Trivia and live music. In addition, nearby Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium is the spring training home of the New York Mets and Miami Marlins. The venue also hosts Jupiter Hammerheads games from April into September.
