Gorgeous views and plenty of fun in Pleasant Hill

Situated 30 miles south of Orlando and bordered to the east by scenic Lake Tohopekaliga is the small community of Pleasant Hill. Featuring proximity to some of the country’s most renowned amusement parks, this Osceola County area offers relaxed residential living on the outskirts of Orlando’s tourism hub. “This area is very family-oriented, with schools and parks,” Carlos DeJesus, Realtor with Exit Realty 4Corners, who has been selling homes in the area for 8 years. “People really like this area because you have pretty much anything you need within a few miles. Sometimes it gets crowded because of the traffic, but the location is very desirable.”

Lake Tohopekaliga, known to locals as Lake Toho, spans over 23,000 acres and is one of the top bass destinations in the world. Each year, the lake draws crowds of fishers for its professional bass fishing competitions. Boaters and kayakers can utilize the Granada Public Boat Ramp to drop in their watercraft and enjoy a day on the water. Golfers can spend an afternoon on the green at Oaks National Golf Club on The Oaks Boulevard.

Vibrant homes with lush Florida greenery

Pleasant Hill’s suburban-style neighborhoods boast wide, curving streets and sidewalks. Colorful ranch homes and cottages are perched on tidy lots that range between a quarter and half-acre. Houses here tend to have high curb appeal and often feature palm trees and lush, diverse landscaping. Most properties have large driveways that lead to front-entrance garages, with overflow parking available on the streets. Here, you can get a three-bedroom ranch home for around $400,000 or a four-bedroom Mediterranean home for around $550,000. “The average price for a home here is around $400,000,” DeJesus says. “It can take 60 to 90 days to get the property sold, depending on the condition.”
