Growing suburb with popular shopping center and well-regarded schools
Growing rapidly from the crossroads of Interstate 75 and Route 129 in southwest Ohio, Liberty is a former farming community that’s become a suburban haven along a now-booming Dayton-Cincinnati corridor. “Liberty was one of the original townships when Ohio became a state in 1803, and it’s been growing ever since,” says Paul Stumpf, the President of the Liberty Township Historical Society. “I like to say, we used to raise corn, and now we raise houses. It’s one of the last frontiers where you can still find newly constructed, upscale homes where you’re just far enough from the city to enjoy a rural, suburban setting but have all your urban amenities." Over the past two decades, Liberty’s population has grown from 23,000 to more than 43,000 and the township projects that once it's entirely built out, that will almost double to 80,000 residents. While the population continues to change, a few things remain the same about Liberty: people come from all over the Cincinnati area to take advantage of the shopping and dining at Liberty Center, the Lakota Local School District is well regarded in the area, and Liberty Township events bring the community together.
