A diverse selection of homes across Martinez

Spread across multiple neighborhoods, potential homeowners can find many architectural styles in Martinez. The original home inventory includes ranch homes and split levels, but newer subdivisions feature Colonial and traditional homes. In some sections such as West Lake, are gated and behind the gates are traditional brick homes with perfectly manicured lawns. Buyers can expect a three-bedroom ranch home to sell for around $215,000, while a four-bedroom Colonial Revival will be approximately $310,000. “The market in Martinez always remains stable. We have been lucky with that, and when things aren’t going well nationally, it is still pretty good here,” Wilson says.

Columbia County Transit and access to Interstate 20

While Columbia County doesn’t offer a traditional public transportation service, it does allow all residents to request a ride at a cost if needed. A local must request their appointment at least one business day in advance, and it can be done between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Martinez is just north of Interstate 20, which runs from South Carolina to Texas. “Interstate 20 allows you to get to Atlanta, the mountains, or the beach in about two to three hours,” Wilson says.

Chain groceries and popular local restaurants

Residents can pick up groceries from the Publix at Fury’s Ferry Plaza, which features a slew of fast-food chains like Jersey Mike’s. A handful of big box stores like Target, Walmart and Sam’s Club are scattered throughout Martinez. For a bite to eat, Cadwalladers is an upscale dining option that has been open since 1987 with traditional American fare, or enjoy a casual meal from French Market Grille West, which serves Cajun and Creole recipes.
