A collection of gated communities with an emphasis on recreation
The Southwest Florida neighborhood of Arrowhead-Island Walk is made up of nearly 15 distinct gated communities. Fittingly, the Arrowhead and Island Walk communities are the two standouts because of their world-class amenities and abundant outdoor recreation. “At Island Walk, people really buy into the community because they get access to resort-style amenities with a nice gym, nice pool area and a really great tiki bar,” says Jon Hunt, waterfront specialist with Coldwell Banker Naples. “It gives off the classic vacation community feel.” Island Walk may provide relaxation, but Arrowhead supplies the recreation with its award-winning public golf course that has attracted golf enthusiasts since 1997. The different gated communities provide a wide range of housing options, and those looking to live in a more rural setting can find contemporary estates on shaded, expansive lots. No matter where prospective homebuyers land, they will have access to highly rated public schools and close commercial centers, while the vibrant shops of downtown Naples are only 13 miles away. And of course, the sandy shores of the Gulf of Mexico are just a short drive away. The neighborhood is prone to hurricanes. However, its proximity away from the beach provides some protection from the stronger storms that strike the coast.

Head to the Arrowhead Golf Club
Clubhouses, fitness centers, and community pools are available at every turn, but the award-winning golf course at Arrowhead remains the neighborhood’s crown jewel. The Naples News Daily voted Arrowhead the best public course in 2023, and it's easy to see why. The 18-hole course winds through the rolling fairways and 16 pristine lakes. Island Walk is a certified Blue Zone Community, meaning an active lifestyle is a priority. This is easy to accomplish through the community’s state-of-the-art fitness center and tennis and pickleball leagues. Lawn bowling and bocce ball are also very popular. Nearby, sports enthusiasts take advantage of the year-round sunshine at North Collier Park’s numerous athletic facilities, ranging from soccer fields to baseball diamonds. The park is 5 miles away and includes a seasonal waterpark for fun all summer long. The sandy shores and deep blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico are just a short drive west.

Community dining with shopping centers nearby
The Island Walk Town Center resembles a Spanish Villa with a towering clock tower in the middle and contains a nail saloon, gas station, and post office. Casa Cotzelli is a popular restaurant in the center, and a night of flowing red wine and tasty Italian cuisine is guaranteed. Most communities in the neighborhood are entirely residential, but residents can head to any of the three shopping centers nearby. Logan Landings is loaded with tons of shops and restaurants, including Sprouts Farmers Market, which provides fresh produce and weekly groceries to residents. Off The Bone BBQ + Ribhouse offers tasty smoked meat platters and spicy signature wings. Across the street, early birds start the day at First Watch, a national chain with breakfast and lunch options.

Spanish-style housing and rural estates
Most residents own their homes, but communities like Island Walk attract seasonal visitors. “It’s a good spot if you are looking for a second home,” Hunt says. “You can lock the door and leave for half the year, and everything is taken care of.” Seasonal or not, Island Walk and Arrowhead both offer striking contemporary builds with heavy influences of Spanish and Mediterranean architecture. Waterfront property is common, and many builds come with their own private pool and lanai. The Falls of Portofino has colorful, Italian-inspired townhouses for a multifamily option. In the more rural reaches of the neighborhood, large, contemporary estates can be found under the shade of towering palms on expansive lots. With such a wide range of housing styles, there is a wide range of housing prices. In the gated communities of Island Walk and Arrowhead, prices for a single-family home range between $400,000 and $1.5 million, depending on square footage and location. Luxury villas and townhouses begin selling for $300,000, while rural estates can top $4 million. New construction is common, and most builds are from the 21st century.
