Ormond Beach oceanfront and a vast neighborhood park keep active residents happy
Central Park in Ormond Beach is just 3 miles from the oceanfront, but the neighborhood’s namesake park is its true appeal. The 150-acre retreat, situated in the center of the neighborhood, is a lush forest comprised of four parks with lakes and miles of paved hiking and biking trails. “It’s more of a year-round family community, than a place where the snowbirds go,” says Eric Zimmerman, a Realtor with Adams, Cameron & Co., who lives in the area. “It’s a mature neighborhood, so there are a lot of large oak trees. It’s a really walkable area. You can walk to the park. The people I’ve sold to like the idea of having a massive playground right there for the kids and it’s just a quick little drive to the beach.” Shopping and dining are also available right in the neighborhood, and those who work in Daytona Beach benefit from a short 5-mile commute.

Another unique feature is the winding Harmony Labyrinth within the park, offering a spot to relax among palm and weeping willow trees. “It has beautiful waterways with places to sit and watch the ducks,” says Anne Leon, a Realtor with Coldwell Banker Premier Properties, who’s been selling homes in the area for more than 20 years. “There’s lots of wildlife and lots of biking and walking trails.” Three miles east, residents can surf, sunbathe and swim at Ormond Beach at Granada Boulevard. Just south, there’s Riviera Country Club. It has an 18-hole course that’s open to the public and offers private and group lessons.
