Master-planned communities are giving Estrella Village a fresh look
Located on the outskirts of downtown Phoenix, Estrella Village is known as a commercial and industrial center — but it’s ready for a major residential boom. A wealth of undeveloped land has been the focal point for both new master-planned and expanding existing communities.
A blend of architectural styles can be found along the winding roads
Long, winding roads dotted with homes lend each subdivision a sparse feeling. Architectural styles range from classic ranchers and bungalows to newer builds and Santa Barbara Tuscan homes. Apartment buildings can also be found throughout the community. Homes on the southwestern end of Estrella Village are primarily new builds in the Alamar master-planned community. Along with a variety of home styles, this community features Alamar Park, a sprawling 40 acres with walking trails, a splash pad, a fishing lake and athletic fields.
Older style ranch homes can be found throughout the Estrella Village neighborhood.
Alamar County, the location of Estrella Village, is a close knit community.

Daily essentials can be found at major retailers such as Walmart Supercenter, found in the Tuscano Towne Center, and Target. Residents can also pick up groceries and pharmacy items at Fry’s Food Stores or head to the east side of Estrella Village for Food City Supermarket. Though there are many fast-food choices if you’re on the go, there are just as many local spots, such as Taqueria El Fundador and Bertha’s Restaurant, that offer authentic Mexican fare.

Seasonal events bring flair to Estrella Village throughout the year
The Avondale Civic Center complex is home to yearly and recurring events. Civic Center Drive is filled with synchronized festive lights and a Christmas tree that displays throughout the winter season. The light show kicks off with the Avondale WinterFest, which features activities, a train ride and a visit from Santa.
Bring an empty stomach to the That’s My Jam Festival, where barbecue food trucks, live bands and vendors selling homemade jam compete for top billing. The festival also features a splash pad, a kid’s corner and sack races.
Each year, hundreds of cyclists gather in Avondale for Cycle Avondale, the 31-mile scenic bicycle tour of the neighborhood with views of the Sierra Estrella mountains.
GreatSchools:
The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Fun place, lots of decent people, not very diverse, very clean with lots of various facilities. The schools aren't that great and lack much flexibility as a whole. Very few accidents or dangerous situations that I know of. Not much going on at night. A lot of families and children of varying ages. Very quick and easy to get around. Decent amount of stores and shops around.
