Several parks are located in and around the neighborhood. Central Park is an 8-acre green space with sports fields, horseshoe pits and playgrounds. It also connects to Columbia Linear Park, a 0.3-mile walking trail lined with mature trees and shrubs. City Park is a 28-acre site with a seven-field baseball and softball complex. It also has an artificial turf soccer field, basketball courts and picnic sites. About 2 miles northwest of the neighborhood, Riverview Park is surrounded by California palms and features a playground and picnic benches that look out at scenic waterfront views of Suisun Bay. The nearby Pittsburg Marina is the city's main waterfront attraction, with boat slips and fueling stations. Central Pittsburg is a primarily residential neighborhood, so most dining options are in nearby Downtown Pittsburg. Lumpy's Diner serves classic American eats like burgers and shakes, while Steeltown Coffee & Tea is known for its small-batch, locally roasted coffee. Waterfront Grill and Café offers dining with a view at the Pittsburg Marina. Local shops downtown include a Railroad Book Depot, Doctorbird Market wine shop and Old Town Market grocery store. Central Pittsburg is about 1.5 miles north of Highway 4, connecting the city to the rest of the Bay Area. The Pittsburg Center BART station is also nearby, offering access to the Yellow Line. This train takes riders west into Oakland and San Francisco, connecting with the other BART lines. Multiple Tri Delta Transit bus routes also serve the neighborhood, offering public transit around Pittsburg and Antioch.
