On the edge of the Everglades, Mission Bay offers you rest and recreation just minutes from the beach. “There’s so much to do here: there’s outdoor activities, lots of kid-friendly areas, shopping and golf courses. There’s truly something for everyone,” says Realtor Charlie Wiener with Wiener Lucena Group.

Homes here offer that classic Spanish Colonial-Revival style for which the area is known. You'll find planned communities featuring terracotta barrel tile roofs, stucco walls and spacious lanais with pools. These communities usually feature ramblers or more traditional homes featuring two levels. However, you'll also find town houses and expansive, multi-million-dollar estates, so something is available for nearly any budget. Gated communities are another feature, with some including amenities like a country club or golf course, such as the Boca Greens Community. Prices in the area range from $500,000 for a town house, $600,000 to $800,000 for a rambler and $1 million to $5 million for larger homes and estates.

Families with students attending public school in the area are a part of the Boca Raton School District, all of which scored above average for test scores, student progress and college readiness on Great Schools. At Waters Edge Elementary, families can choose from in-house academic programs that best fit their students interests and needs, including STEAM, Montessori and Environmental Science. At Loggers' Run Middle School, there are several excellent academic-based extra-curriculars, such as Robotics Club, Oceanography Club and Tech Club. West Boca Raton High School provides a library and media center with eBooks, computers, print materials and an on-campus coffee shop called Corner Shelf Cafe. Students here can attend several different academies to personalize their education, including aviation, pre-medicine and performing arts options.

Just a few minutes from the Everglades, there are a variety of places to get outside and enjoy the area's natural beauty. The area's most significant outdoor recreation space is Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park. This massive greenbelt spans nearly half the neighborhood, offering a variety of trails, water features, playgrounds and other activities. Take your pup to the park's Canine Cove and let them run free over the large open fields and into the lake, or attend a concert, festival or movie screening at Sunset Cove Amphitheater and Pavilion. At the park, you can also take kids to cool off at the Coconut Cove Waterpark or learn about animals at Daggerwing Nature Center. With all the options available here at South County Regional Park, you'll find this place truly has something for everyone.

Another perk of living in the community is that you're close to much of the area's dining and retail. You're just about five miles from downtown and 13 miles from the waterfront, but there is plenty to do right here at home. Along Highway 441, you have a variety of shopping centers with big box stores, home goods stores and restaurants offering global cuisine. West Boca Square is where you'll find grocery stores, locally owned boutiques and commercial favorites like Target. At Mission Bay Plaza, you'll find a variety of dining options. Try Padrino's for homestyle Cuban dishes or Ramen Lab Eatery for steaming bowls of ramen in an anime-inspired dining space. Ramen Lab is also a favorite for weekly trivia and bingo. Golf courses are another feature here in Mission Bay. Become a member of private courses like Boca Greens Country Club or visit a public course, such as Osprey Point, which features an 18-hole course and a driving range.

With its classic South Florida-style homes, excellently rated schools and proximity to dining, retail and one of the area's best parks, Mission Bay might just be one of Boca Raton's best neighborhoods.
