Suburban feel in northeast Seattle
Located 2 miles from Pontiac Bay, the Wedgwood neighborhood is the opposite aura of Seattle’s tech-booming hustle and bustle. “Wedgwood has a more suburban feel, even though you are still in Seattle proper,” says Jim Pullin, the managing broker with Skyline Properties, Inc. “You are adjacent to the Northgate neighborhood, which has access to the new light rail and can easily reach the city’s east side using Interstate 520.”
Wedgwood offers easy downtown access and proximity to many beloved parks, restaurants and nightlife. The residential area has quiet streets, diverse housing and luscious trees. While it is not considered a dense neighborhood, proposals for a new center can change this narrative. The proposed center along 35th Ave looks to add a grocer and at least 330 apartments.
On a clear day, you can catch a glimpse of Mount Rainier from Wedgwood.

Modern architecture across various housing types
Single-family homes comprised of most of Wedgwood Detached homes also vary in styles, including midcentury moderns, split-levels, contemporary and craftsman. Ramblers and midcentury moderns range from $700,000 to $1.5 million. Contemporaries and craftsman houses start at around $1 million and extend to $2.76 million for new five-bedroom builds. “Right now, it is hit or miss on properties getting multiple offers or moving quickly, and I think it's more so how they are marketed than the quality of the house,” Pullin says. There is also an assortment of condos and townhouses in the neighborhood. Condos are designed with modern or traditional architecture. A two-bedroom condo can start around $400,000 and stretch to over $1.8 million for four bedrooms and views of the golf course at Sand Point Country Club, an 18-hole course. Townhouses have similar prices, starting at $500,000 for a two-bedroom and going to $1.3 million for four bedrooms.

I have lived in Wedgwood for 4 years. Wedgwood is a great area to live. Very quiet area. You live in a city and you feel like you are quite far from it. It is great for families, but also for young people. Just 6 miles from downtown Seattle, 3 miles from University Village. Washington Lake is nearby. Great for running, walking... Good restaurants and of course coffee shops. Trees are everywhere around. Very healthy. Area is expensive, but worth it.

I feel safe when walking in the neighborhood. Many people out walking their dogs. There is a small business district spread along a half mile. A sleepy neighborhood. We lack much ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, though there is a sizeable Jewish population and many temples.
