Shorewood Hill
Homes on the water
The neighborhood’s winding residential streets feature a wide range of house styles from colonial revivals and Cape Cods to Tudors and mid-century modern homes. Most of the homes in Shorewood Hills were built throughout the early to mid-20th century and sit on half-acre wooded lots. Additionally, the neighborhood’s waterfront homes feature private docks. Homes throughout the community don’t stay on the market long, so it’s best to strike when the iron’s hot when one is available. Real estate prices can range anywhere between $750,000 and $2 million for scenic lakeside homes. There are also rental properties along the southern end of the neighborhood, with several apartment complexes on Locust Drive.Lake Mendota parks
Locals enjoy proximity to the community pool and tennis courts that can be found just south of the neighborhood’s residential streets, with the local pool being the only outdoor Olympic sized pool in the area. Additionally, Shorewood Hills residents enjoy the selection of small parks that dot the neighborhood. For a day out on Lake Mendota boat owners can launch off at the Spring Harbor Park Boat Launch or from the Shorewood Hills Marina where locals can reserve dock space.Public schools close by
Shorewood Hills Elementary School can be found within the neighborhood’s borders and prides itself on its large population of international students and diverse student body. Shorewood Hills is followed by Hamilton Middle and West High School afterward. West High School has an overall A Niche grade, offering an Early College STEM Academy in partnership with Madison College that allows students to take college-level courses for credits before they graduate. From local shops to chain favorites
The neighborhood’s southern border is home to a selection of local and chain restaurants and shops. A local favorite can be found in La Brioche True Food, a European style bistro and bakery where patrons can enjoy dishes from breakfast tacos and crepes to spiced turkey and French dip. After a day of work or recreation, locals can relax among Shorewood Hills’ quiet residential streets and lakeside parks
Quick access to Madison
Shorewood Hills lies just to the west of Madison, meaning residents can pop over to the many amenities that the city offers in no time. There’s also several bus stops along University Avenue on the southern end of the community.
