Retail options like JCPenney, Burlington, Hobby Lobby and Costco are concentrated in the Sarasota Square shopping mall, directly to Coral Cove’s southeast. Ed Smith Stadium, 7 ½ miles north of Coral Cove, is the spring training home of the Baltimore Orioles. Sarasota Bradenton International Airport is 10 ½ miles north of Coral Cove. There are public bus stops along Tamiami Trail. Residents can navigate the neighboring island of Siesta Key using the Breeze Trolley along State Route 758. The free trolley takes riders from the far north to the far south end of the island. Tampa is 66 miles north via Interstate 75, and Fort Myers is 71 miles south via Interstate 75. “Residents have to deal with a lot of traffic sometimes when they are getting on and off the island of Siesta Key. The bridges get locked up,” Tritschler says.
