Families stay busy at Capital Park, which has two playgrounds as well as two baseball diamonds outfitted for league play. Fast-food joints line Orange Avenue to the north, and residents can stop for groceries at Publix just south in Forest Village Shopping Center. Residents have easy access to the 100-acre North Florida Fairgrounds, which hosts events year-round. The biggest of these is the North Florida Fair, which lasts for eleven days in early November. The fair includes a carnival with rides, a petting zoo, and food, produce and artisanal vendors. Agricultural and livestock shows are also highlights. Another popular event is the holiday season Market Days, with more than 300 vendors selling arts and crafts.
