Meadows
A lot of room for future growth
Properties here tend to be mostly made up of brick ranch homes built between the 1960s and ’80s, the housing stock is also very consistent when it comes to features, mainly offering two-car garages, covered front and back porches or patios, and fenced, square backyards. They tend to stay around 1,000 square feet of indoor space and typically sell $100,000 to $300,000, a reasonable range for their ages and amenities. However, the homes may require some maintenance, “It’s going to have to be renovated for it to start attracting the younger crowd,” Moore says. “It’s going to take some years. Just like any other city where they start branching out from midtown.”Shoppping on every corner of Meadows
Besides Las Americas Supermercado and Nam-Hai Oriental, El Bazaar Shopping Center is also home to a slew of unique storefronts, from QuennsFashion clothing to record and furniture shops, and a few adored restaurants. One of those is Fiesta Del Mar, raved by many as the best place in all of Oklahoma to get authentic Mexican fare. Residents can choose from all the classics like asada enchiladas and chicken gorditas, or opt for a steak ranchero or shrimp platter. Down the strip is Pho Nhi, best known for its namesake pho – which comes in 18 different flavors. There’s also Citi Trends, Walmart Neighborhood Market and Cash Saver sitting off the neighborhood’s southwestern corner; Supermercados Morelos and Asian Mart along the southeastern; and Aldi lying on the northeastern.Schools focusing on mental and physical health
Located right in the neighborhood, Disney Elementary serves prekindergarten through fifth grade. It has a socioemotional development focus and uses the Second Step Learning Method to integrate bullying prevention and child safety into each day’s lesson plans. From there, graduates feed into East Central Middle and High schools, the latter of which houses the YMCA of Greater Tulsa, offering students access to a fitness center in the evening and on weekends. All schools score a C-minus on Niche.Breathing new life into green spaces
Making up a big chunk of the neighborhood’s western side, McCullough Park reopened in April 2023 after undergoing extensive $3.6 million renovations, which added a seasonal splash pad, walking trails, picnic shelters and a BMX pump track to go along with its handful of baseball diamonds and turfed turquoise playset with slides and a web-like climbing structure. This makes the 11.5-acre attraction one of the newest – and most sought-after – places to play in the city.Houses of worship
There are three houses of worship in the neighborhood: Tulsa Garnett Spanish Seventh-Day Adventist Church, St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Faith Cumberland Presbyterian Church.Less than 12 miles to Downtown
The neighborhood is within minutes of I-44, U.S. 64, OK-51 and U.S. 169. “You’re also close to highway access,” says Yvonne Carreno, Carreño, Realtor for Keller Williams Preferred. “It’s a very ideal location.”
