Low-priced houses in a naval city near the Bay
Vallejo Manor is a walkable neighborhood with an eclectic mix of cottages and one-story homes about 2 miles east of downtown. During World War II, this region boomed rapidly, as Vallejo was a significant naval base in the 20th century. Today, the Vallejo Manor neighborhood offers entry-level houses, family-friendly attractions and an easy commute to Bay Area cities. "We're surrounded by seven counties, all within half an hour," says Peppino Messina, an area resident and broker-owner at Messina Realty, Inc. "Vallejo is a commuter city to the Bay Area. We're right in the middle of San Francisco and Sacramento, which is really nice."
