Named after Princess Anne of Denmark and Norway, Princess Anne is a thriving residential area located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Minutes from the Atlantic oceanfront and boasting top-rated schools and spacious homes, it’s no wonder Princess Anne is a highly sought-after place to call home. “This area has a resort-like feel,” says Heather Platz, Realtor with The Real Estate Group. “The Virginia Beach oceanfront further north is more touristy. This area has year-round homeowners, but there are also a lot of property owners there who will rent it out every now and then.”

The curving, suburban-style streets of Princess Anne are lined with trees and tidy sidewalks. Paved driveways lead to two-car, front-entrance garages with plenty of overflow parking on the street. In a nutshell, Princess Anne is brimming with suburban charm. The area is also home to several condominium complexes, where a three-bedroom condo costs around $350,000. According to Platz, inventory is very low. She says demand has slowed down a little bit compared to the hot market of the past few years, but houses are still selling at a solid rate.

This wooded 217-acre site, which has several paved and dirt walking trails that wind throughout, has otherwise been kept in its natural state. Locals enjoy coming here to hike or fish in the creek. Bring kids to the large play area at Princess Anne Commons Gateway Park on Dam Neck Road.
