About Adrian
Before Adage, I was a social worker, then co-founded a home furnishings business, followed by a boutique real estate firm, Inhabit, equal parts passion project and proving ground. Building businesses gave me a deep appreciation for what it takes to lead, motivate, and navigate growth through market ups and downs. It also confirmed what I probably knew all along: I’m drawn to highly relational work and not afraid of a challenge.
I’m also a serial renovator, some might say an optimist, so I’ve lived in everything from “diamond in the rough” to “rough, but we’ll get there.” Different neighborhoods, different houses, same curiosity about how people live and what makes a place feel like home. These days, I’m in a late-’60s spot in Duke Forest, usually mid-project on something, and perfectly content with that. (Because are we ever really done?)
Durham works for me because it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s creative, a little scrappy, and full of people doing their own thing, which feels familiar. Plus, you’re just a few hours from both the mountains and the coast. Truth be told, I’m pretty happy in both.
At the end of the day, real estate is about people, understanding them, advocating for them, and occasionally helping them take a leap. That’s the part I enjoy most, and the reason I’m still at it.
