About Alan

Imagine a real estate agent genuinely invested in your transaction and finances. I am Alan Arata, a Real Estate Broker, and I wear various hats – a Christ follower, husband, father, coach, sports adventurer, engineer, professor, and retired military officer. As a long-time resident of Colorado Springs, my knowledge of the area is extensive. Two principles that have consistently served me well throughout my diverse careers are my strong work ethic and an unrelenting appetite for knowledge.

In my years of buying, selling, and leasing real estate, I have not only risen to the top 5% of individual Pikes Peak Realtors but have also served as a leader of agents, learning directly from the world's top real estate mind, Gary Keller.

Growing up in Colorado Springs, I attended the US Air Force Academy and retired from active duty in 2005. During my time in the Air Force, I earned a master's degree from the University of Colorado and a Doctorate in Biomechanics from the University of Oregon. My coaching experience includes leading the Lewis Palmer School District's boys' and girls' swimming and diving teams to two State titles, and in 2018, I was named the US National Swimming and Diving Coach of the Year.

I have been married for over 36 years to my best friend, Kim, and you might spot us cycling through local neighborhoods, snowboarding at Colorado's great resorts, or enjoying meals in our favorite area eateries. We have two adult sons, both residing in Colorado, and welcomed a grandson born in 2023 into our family.
