Alison, together with her late husband, Jefferson, raised their family in Upper Nyack and has been actively involved as a volunteer in schools and various not-for-profit organizations. Currently, she serves as a board member of Friends of River Hook, a project dedicated to the restoration of a 12-acre estate in Upper Nyack, creating a preserve for the arts, music, and environmental education. Additionally, Alison holds the position of president of the Board of Trustees for the Welles Remy Crowther Charitable Trust, established in memory of her son, Welles, a 9/11 civilian hero famously known as the Man in the Red Bandanna.
