Following graduating from Radford University in 1992, with a Bachelor’s degree in Design and Art minor, Amanda entered The Building Industry in Central Virginia and North Carolina. She has maintained working with clients in new construction and remodeling for over 28 years.
After developing extensive knowledge in both the Housing Market and Housing Construction, Amanda transitioned into the Real Estate sector in 2018, working in her hometown of Hurt, in Pittsylvania County and surrounding counties in Virginia.
Developing mutual respect and trust with her clients, both Buyers and Sellers, Amanda has built a reputation of working very hard physically and mentally with her vast expertise of home properties in underdeveloped land. Besides setting the proper market value on homes for Sellers and being able to successfully negotiate for her Buyers, other examples of Amanda’s hard work would be replacing broken windowpanes and mowing grass for a single elderly woman looking to sell a home she can no long afford to maintain. Another example of dedication to clients is walking 115 acres of land so she knows exact boundary lines, water ways, and the lay of the property.
Being witness to the housing industry, where affordability has locked so many buyers out of the market, Amanda’s heart breaks for people and families that live without housing security. Her vision five years ago, of creating a home for a family to live in without any expense for one full year, has finally come to fruition. Amanda closed on a parcel of land in June 2024. She plans to build a tiny two-bedroom home within the year, giving a family a full year to focus on job security, budgeting, life skills, and maintaining good mental health.
Amanda believes there are no winners or losers in this industry. We all come out as winners when we treat each other with kindness and most important of all, empathy!
