I recently sold my home after living in it for almost 24 years. To say I was nervous about the whole selling process was an understatement. I was introduced to Amy Foote and her team Foote through a friend's referral. After our initial meeting, I felt relieved that I was working with a professional (not someone who is in real estate part time). Throughout the selling process, Amy was always updating me, explaining each step (something I appreciated). As we approached the closing date, the unthinkable happened, the buyers financing fell through. Almost immediately, Amy stepped up and was able to guide the buyer's realtor through the process to get the buyer re-qualified. Without Amy's help, I truly believe the whole deal would have fallen apart.

I really enjoyed working with Amy Foote. She is the consummate professional. I hired Amy to help me sale my home. Upon my first one on one meeting with Amy my first impressions were her professionalism, and how well she understood the current market trends in my area. She reassured me numerous times my home would sell quickly. To assist with getting the most money out of the home she put me in contact with a home stager (Sheila) who was fabulous in her suggestions of how best to show the house which I did my best to follow. Another thing that impressed me was her communication from start to finish. I have known friends and family who have worked with other realtors and barely heard from them after they signed the contract. I felt once I signed with Amy, I became part of her team, and she took me under her wing and helped educate me in the process of selling a home. Her weekly status updates and reach outs when she needed more information for me made me feel I was included in the process from start to finish. I would like to express my gratitude to Amy Foote and the Foote Team in executing the sale of our home in the Dundee area. This was not a normal sale of a house, as we had to make an abrupt decision to move at the beginning of the year and would not be able to personally take care of many small details that were required to make the sale complete.
Being out of State during the sale of the house I had thought would be a very uncomfortable situation, but Amy kept us up to date on everything that was required to be done and all other details that we had to make decisions on. I can honestly say that there were days we did not even remember we had a house for sale out of State because Compass took care of everything for us.
On the first day of our open house, there was an unexpected snow storm that hit the area. Amy called and suggested that we should probably have the driveway, walkway and porch cleared and salted so that perspective buyers would not have to drudge through the snow and to also provide a safe passage up to and in the house. I certainly couldn't personally take care of this, so the Foote Team gave me several contacts for local plowmen that might be able to take care of the property. Phone call were made and a contract signed in time for our open house. This is just one of the many small circumstances that came up that the Foote Team quickly and professionally took care of for us.

Above and beyond, a simple phrase I believe best fits the Foote Team at Compass. Thank you again Amy!

Oh yea, the House remained on the market for only a couple days in a very competitive market. Quick sale with a price we were very happy with. There is no reason to look anywhere else but Team Foote if you are looking to sell your house.

Working with the Foote Team at compass was like striking oil in your back yard for me and my wife. We bought our home in the summer of 2023, and the market was almost nonexistent. I honestly believe had we not found Amy, we would not have the home of our dreams. Amy and her team were incredibly knowledgeable in pretty much every aspect with the home purchasing possess. She initially presented us with a wealth of information tailored to a home seller, and followed up with a comprehensive package regarding our home specifically. She showed us all the comparable listings and explained how they would affect our sale. She gave us a realistic idea of profits based on a few different sales prices. Once we decided on our price, she listed our home. When there were disagreements about certain verbiage in documents, Brando Mauer was patient and worked through some tough situations without breaking a sweat. Careese was amazing! We had been thinking about selling and had just started looking, but I had been hesitant to reach out to an agent because well, some are not great and some are pushy, but I ended up at an open-house where I met Careese. She very kindly asked what I was looking for and if I had an agent, I explained and she asked if it would be okay if she sent me some listings to look at, no pressure, no contract, and if I liked any of them, we would go from there. About 2 weeks later we signed a contract with Careese and The Foote Team and about 3 months later we closed on the sale of our old home and closed on the purchase of our forever home; we met Careese and everything just fell into place. Careese is always available to answer questions even if they are about the smallest detail of a home or process and to commiserate with you when offers are rejected. Careese was very patient with my list of 'must-haves', target location changes, and the slew of unbelievable home selling situations that you could write a book about. We met 3 other Foote Team Agents during our process and all were extremely professional and just friendly.
The Foote Team took turns hosting open houses at our home to ensure we had the most foot traffic possible. They were all honest and want you to get exactly what you are looking for. Amy Foote, and the rest of her team, minimized the stress of selling our home and buying another. She was especially very patient with us in finding the right house to buy, which was made quite difficult by our high degree of selectivity.

Her knowledge, of both the area we were selling from and where we were looking to buy, and her (1) advice on what to do to prepare our house for going on the market, (2) identifying quirks in certain houses during the many showings we dragged her on, and (3) making it clear what we needed to do and when, were invaluable. As first-time home buyers in a crazy market, my wife and I relied heavily on the expertise of Amy and Jim from the Foote Team to find the perfect house for our growing family. Amy was with us for dozens of showings and nearly a dozen offers. The house we were lucky enough to end up in only happened because she was willing to meet us at the property at the drop of a hat, as soon as the listing was public. In this market, timing seems to be everything.
Similarly, Jim worked closely with us to answer a million questions about the financing process and helped us to secure a loan at the best possible rate, and prepared us for closing on the house. Jim took all of the guesswork out of the process for us and helped us understand how much cash we needed on hand to close and what our monthly obligations would be.
I'd probably consider myself a high-maintenance client because I needed to know the inner workings about the entire process before moving forward with a decision and probably asked a lot of atypical questions. Amy and Jim handled it all with grace and helped us stay positive throughout the process.
I'd recommend The Foote Team to anyone who is looking to purchase a house in any type of market conditions.

She would get back to me almost immediately when I would text or email a question, and when issues and challenges popped up during the process, she was all over it — getting answers to questions, taking care of business, solving problems. We needed to sell my moms house a year after my dad passed as it was just way yoo much house for just her. She was mobing to a smaller home in a senior community.

As an update to the below, Amy assisted my wife and I on our recent sale and purchase. I have always prized and appreciated Amy as a Realtor from the attorney side, and now can comment on her from the clients side as well. All that I said below is still applicable and Amy was fantastic in getting our property up and ready to sell. Photos, videos and descriptions were perfect. We listed the house on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, even though that is usually a slow time. We did this on Amy's advise. We had six showings that day and 4 offer with 5 more showings to take place on Wedensday. By Wednesday night we had a list price cash offer and were ready to move forward with our buy. Thank you Amy for all your hard work. Kudos to Jim Foote and -Direct Mortgage as well for getting us a great interest rate and getting thins approved and pushed trough in less then a month.

I am a real estate attorney, and have been so for 40 years, and have worked with a number of real estate agents overt that time.
