Hi, I live in Paonia Colorado, which is located on the western slope in the West Elk Mountains on the north fork of the Gunnison river. It's been home to fruit growers, ranchers, and coal mines for more than a hundred years. In more recent years organic farms, and artists of all kinds have found their way to our North Fork Valley.
The temperate climate of our valley makes it ideal for growing cherries, peaches, nectarines, apricots, pears, apples and grapes. The West Elk AVA is located in the North Fork Valley, and has at least 11 boutique wineries, featuring pinot noir, pinot gris, gewurztraminer, chardonnay and more.
I have been blessed to call Paonia home since 1999. I love the North Fork Valley for many reasons, the community, the West Elk wilderness, the organic farms and the simple way of life.
This area lends itself to all my interest, hiking, gardening, food enthusiast, animal and nature lover. Being an avid vegetarian, I am always creating new recipes and food combinations that are delicious as well as nutritious.
For most of my life I have worked in the service industry, from 5 star restaurants to owning and managing a small town cafe. So service is very important to me, I live to serve.
