Anne was my realtor for a home purchase in Belmont earlier this year. I have worked with 6 different realtors over the past 25 years in the Boston area. To cut to the chase, Anne is by far the best realtor I've worked with. She goes way above and beyond in her work, spares no detail, and is very well-connected to obtain all necessary resources for a successful transaction. She found a great place that met my requirements in less than a week, and worked tirelessly to get all necessary inspections and updates done. Anne is a gem to work with. She was great to help us sell our house. Anne is honest, sincere, and proactive. Our condo looked amazing by the time it was on the market. Anne held our hands every step of the way. When she first came to look at our house, she balanced respecting what we had done with our space while helping us plan a vision for sale.
Anne was great at recommending a handyman and helped us with electricians. She was eager to always do what was right and thorough. She was flexible and would offer to go to the house and meet people if we had scheduling challenges with our two kids. She personally helped us with basement clean out and last minute changes.
We trusted Anne thoroughly as we were selling our house. Anne is extremely responsive and kept us in the loop on every potential buyer. She hosted amazing open houses. Her knowledge of Belmont is second to none. She is an encyclopedia of this town for any person who is a potential buyer. Anne was a dream to work with. We were so excited to use Anne when we first started looking for homes. She is a huge part of the Belmont community, and she truly knows EVERYONE. Anne was patient with us during our house search from early in the summer. She was honest, competent, and caring. We truly felt like she was a family member with the care and love that she showered upon us during this process. When we looked on Agassiz Ave., I remember her coming out of the house and saying "this might just work!" She got us in within hours of the listing. We got a pre-inspection booked that day with one of her "people" who was so thorough.
Anne is savvy. She knows how to talk to agents and get the best for clients. She helped us put in a smart bid for our dream home. She is focused and constantly has her eye on the prize. Anne and her colleague Dana worked with us over a ten-month period to prepare our house for market and then sell it. Anne was recommended to us by the agent who helped us buy our new home in another area well before we sold our former home. That agent had told us that Anne was an agent’s agent—the best in the business in Eastern Massachusetts. The wisdom and caring she brought to every step of the process were remarkable.

Along the way, Anne and Dana provided an array of services we would not have even known were needed, much less found on our own.

From the start, they tactfully told us what we needed to do to get top dollar for our house. This included investing in targeted renovations that would appeal to buyers and maximize returns. They laid out the second alternative: selling our house as it was but being realistic about a lower sale price.

We grew to appreciate the wisdom of their recommendations. Anne and Dana explained that we were preparing the house for the widest likely set of buyers, not for ourselves.

Key to the success of our renovations was that Anne and Dana connected us to highly skilled, responsible, and reasonably-priced professionals (painters, floor installers, handypersons, and movers) who work with them regularly.

When it came time to stage the house, Dana’s expertise was invaluable. With her exquisite taste, using color, texture, and shape, she made each room into a work of art, completely transforming our home. Potential buyers later expressed admiration for what they mistakenly thought was our good taste.

Anne and Dana had the foresight to bring in their photographer twice, making sure to capture the beauty of our swimming pool in the summer. Out of those images, they created a compelling video and brochure.

Anne then notified her extensive network of real estate colleagues about our open house. She encouraged us to invite our neighbors for the first open house, which included a luncheon. Our neighbors later described to us the packed house, with cars lined up and down our street. Talk about creating a buzz!

Anne also wisely asked us to write a personal letter about why we loved our house and community, which they shared with potential buyers. This turned out to be an excellent idea as it provided a compelling description that buyers could connect with.

The result of all this far exceeded our hopes. Anne and Dana’s expertise and efforts resulted in an offer that was much higher than what we had dared to expect. As for the amount we invested in preparing the house, we estimate we recouped it four to five times over.

While the process of renovating and selling our house was stressful, having this consummate pair of professionals working for and with us made it so much easier. Now, when we are asked about whether it is worth it to hire a real estate agent to help sell a house, we say, “Hell, yes!” However, it pays to be selective about who to work with. Agents vary enormously in the “added value” they bring to this important transaction.

Writing this review was the least we could do to express our appreciation for the work of this talented duo.
