Growing up in a family business in rural southern Illinois, I learned the value of making relationships with my clients. Farmers from five neighboring counties knew me by name, and not only did I know their names, but I was aware of each of their differing needs as I worked to help them find the right piece of equipment for their land and crop. After attending college as a communications major, I worked for Dippin’ Dots, a national company that required travel across the country. Travel taught me how to connect with people of all backgrounds and cultures, and despite possible travel delays, I always made sure to follow through with promises and deliver on time. Whether it meant traveling 12 hours across Texas to get product for a client, I also made sure clients had what they needed to be productive. After meeting my wife, Kim, I moved to Waco and became a "bonus dad" to her two sons. While in Waco, I worked at a local car dealership in finance, paying attention to all the details because there was no margin for error. I worked diligently to find the best deal for each customer based on the personal financial situation and budget. During these years, I met people from every neighborhood and community in McLennan County. Within minutes, customers felt at home in my office, often commenting that they had never laughed as much while purchasing a car. In my free time, I pursue my passion of photography, capturing moments perfectly through my lens. I also work magic on every type of BBQ grill imaginable. During the fall each year, I am found under the tailgate tent, supporting the Baylor Bears, feeding 30-40 people who come from all areas of life, including strangers who just wander up to the tent. I have mentored youth for years, volunteering as a middle school Sunday School teacher, leader of mission trips, and the leader/teacher for a district church youth camp.
