Born and reared in San Antonio, Texas, with a real estate broker mother and builder father (he built Trinity University and the Hemisfair Tower), Ashley grew up steeped in the construction, design, and property businesses. Eager to see the rest of the world, she earned her BA from the University of California Los Angeles with a double major in English and interior design. She then joined the Ford Agency in New York from 1973 to 1980, and commuted between New York, and Milan, Italy. Ashley is fluent in Italian and Spanish and speaks passable French.
She has been married since 1978 to Paul Margetson of the Hotel Santa Fe, Hacienda, & Spa. They have three grown children, three grandbabies, and two Labradors. They are fun, not serious, bridge players and she is passionate about Mahjong.
Ashley earned her New Mexico real estate license in 1990, GRI designation in 1995, CRS certification in 1996, CNE in 2013, and SFS in 2020.
She currently serves on the Grievance Committee of the Santa Fe Association of Realtors and has consistently been a top producer at Sotheby’s International Realty, specializing in luxury, specialty, and unique properties in Santa Fe.
