Barbara Adams

Barbara Adams Miller discovered Bald Head Island in 1990. Along with her husband and four children, she was lucky enough to spend summers there enjoying the peaceful nature of what makes Bald Head Island so special. She has watched the island develop and grow into the magical place it is today. In 2013 Barbara fulfilled a lifelong dream to become a full-time resident of the island.

She loves calling BHI home, understands why people are so attracted to it, and enjoys helping people realize their island dreams as well. Barbara joined Sotheby's International Realty with over 24 years of real estate expertise. She has owned and operated her own boutique real estate company in New Jersey. In addition, she uses her interior design background for designing and remodeling homes. She ran a successful home staging business to help clients present their homes in the best possible light in anticipation of a sale.

Several of the homes on Bald Head Island boast Barbara's special design touch. She is very involved with the BHI community and has first-hand expertise on how to buy and sell homes on the island. Barbara organized the island's first and now annual "Pink Weekend" for breast cancer awareness and continues to raise funds for breast cancer research working with Susan G. Komen affiliates in more than thirty cities in North Carolina. In her free time, Barbara enjoys gardening in the community organic garden, golf, tennis, croquet, spending time with her grown children who visit often, and her chocolate lab, Charlie.
