About Barbara
Before putting down roots in the Mad River Valley, Barbara was the proprietor of Common Ground, an organic garden design & maintenance company in Connecticut (spring through fall), while simultaneously acting as care giver to her father in Massachusetts and mother to her college-bound daughter.
A Level II Certified Ski Instructor and 30 plus year member of Professional Ski Instructors of America, Barbara moved to Sugarbush in 2000 to teach skiing. Although skiing drew her here initially, the community and beauty of the Mad River Valley are why she has made it her home.
A chance meeting with the principal broker of a local real estate agency in The Valley lead Barb to pursue a real estate career. Her natural tenacity and ability to help all the parties involved in a transaction reach their respective goals are a couple of the reasons why Barb has successfully matched so many of her customers with their dream homes.
Barb’s myriad other outdoor interests, from biking to skiing, learning to mountain bike & snowshoeing have offered her innumerable opportunities to meet all types of people, turning many into customers & friends. Her volunteer work with Pawsitive Pantry, a non-profit organization that functions as a food shelf specifically for pets, has given her opportunities to meet even more.
So when you’re out and about in the Mad River Valley or up on the mountains of Sugarbush, don’t be surprised if you run into Barb along with her grandson & her furry 4-legged friend, Willy. They can usually be found seeking adventures, rejoicing in their wonderful discoveries, and sharing their philosophy "you’ve got to be out there to experience it" with folks they meet along the way.
