About Barbara

I fell in love with helping people solve their problems over thirty years ago. I started as a drug and alcohol counselor, Social Service Manager for a nursing home, business owner in the construction industry before I became a real estate agent in the 90's in Grants Pass, Oregon.

As a homeowner and investor, I understand how important the ROI is to a homeowner. It isn't enough to just list a home in MLS today. It's necessary to take in account all the social media venues and become proactive in marketing. What I love the most is when I procure a buyer for my seller. I've done this on multiple occasions in less than thirty days.

When I lived in Grants Pass, I took a forty-hour course in the Art of Negotiations at the Oregon Institute of Technology. This has saved my clients tens of thousands of dollars. I negotiated and got 1/3 off the asking price on a listing for my buyer and saved my sellers 10k when the appraiser said the property's appraisal came in low. The agent and I disagreed and provided evidence, however, with a two-week delay in closing became problematic, I found a buyer in 24 hours and had a backup offer. My new buyer was ecstatic to pay my original asking price so, needless to say, the first buyer accepted the offer. These are just a few of my accolades while using my skills in the art of negotiations.

I spend hours of research weekly to see what is happening in our local market and how the national market is affecting Ada & Canyon counties. While searching homes for my clients it is important to give them relevant information. Whether it is their commute time, school information, neighborhood crime or inventory and history in their desirable area. My clients have all rated me "5 Star". A common thread is; I always respond quickly, great negotiation skills and knowledgeable. I post on facebook that I am open 24 hours :) I've stayed up late to write up offers, text or answer my phone when my clients call. I call it, good old fashion business. I remember when a handshake was your bond and I pride myself with old school business practice.

As your real estate agent, you can be assured, I will do everything humanly possible to get the job done. You will always be treated with respect and when I say something you can take that to the bank. I'm known for my "extraordinary service" going beyond and above, to serve my clients. I've rolled up my sleeves and helped with staining decks, packing, cleaning and getting volunteers to help my clients move. Moving can be overwhelming for my clients so I do everything I can to make it an easy transition. I understand what it takes to move a property from having a "For Sale" sign in the yard to "SOLD".

Fun Fact: I invented & patented the "Sunshade" for infant's car seat carriers when my daughter was six weeks old. If you keep your eye open, you will see the retractable cloth shade on every newborns car seat. United States Patent #4,997.231
