Barney Rapp

Barney is a fourth generation Galvestonian and had decided to make the Island his home after graduating from Texas A&M University in 1970. His business experience ranged from managing a major local shopping mall to becoming Assistant General Manager of the Galveston Chamber of Commerce to being vice president of a large local contracting and real estate development company prior to entering into a career in residential and commercial real estate sales.

He is a member of the Galveston and Houston Association of REALTORS, Inc. and of the Texas and National Associations of REALTORS and is a participant in both the Galveston and Houston Multiple Listing Services (MLS). Barney has twice served as President of the Galveston Association of REALTORS, on three occasions has served as Chairman of the Galveston MLS Executive Committee, has been presented the Galveston Association's "Joseph L. Schlankey Outstanding Service Award", and has been awarded REALTOR Emeritus status by the National Association of REALTORS. He holds two professional designations: Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) - Charter Member and Emeritus Designee - and Graduate of the REALTOR Institute (GRI).

Also, Barney is presently a member of the UTMB President's Cabinet, the Board of Directors of the St. Mary's Children's Relief Fund, and the Long Term Recovery Committee of the City of Galveston. He served for many years on the Galveston County Veterans Land Board and as President of both the Galveston Housing Finance Corporation and City of Galveston Property Finance Authority, Inc.
