As a Managing Principal and Chief Legal Officer at DLP Capital®, Barry oversees all legal aspects of the firm and its business units, including advising on corporate governance, risk management, capital structuring, and compliance. He has seamlessly stewarded all facets of such matters for nearly a decade at DLP Capital®, during a period of exponential growth for the firm from when it had less than $500 million in assets under management and a team of less than 50, to more than $4 billion of assets under management and 300+ employees. His tenure has included personally overseeing the legal aspects of real estate portfolio transactions valued as high as $500 million. He manages a legal staff of seven professionals.
Barry also has a leadership role as a Partner of DLP Capital Partners, which serves as manager of DLP Capital’s investment funds. In addition, he is a Founding Shareholder of DLP Bancshares, Inc., a bank holding company that recently acquired Community State Bank, a regional bank in northern Florida.
Previously, Barry has held both in-house and private practice positions. His areas of expertise over the course of his legal and real estate career include acquisitions and development, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, finance , and litigation. He has also served in numerous cases as an expert witness in real estate litigation matters.
Barry holds a J.D. from Penn State University’s Dickinson School of Law and a B.A. from Penn State University. He resides in St. Augustine with his wife Elizabeth and two children. Barry’s an accomplished musician and songwriter who plays piano and keyboard. His personal growth includes continuing studies at Berklee College of Music, a preeminent international institution for the study of music.
