Betty was our agent during our ~1.5 year long journey to buy a new house. She was awesome and a huge help. I highly recommend her for those looking to buy/sell in Harford County. She guided us through the initial process of figuring out what type of house we wanted to going through the long process of building a new construction custom house. She was easy to work with and responsive throughout the process and had several helpful insights as we made selections for our new house. We are very happy with our home and it would not have turned out as well without Betty.

To say ours was not a typical transaction is an understatement and we could not have done it without Betty Shock. The house is a 132 year old 3600 square foot Victorian with the original slate roof, multiple outbuildings and all the quirks of a house that age. It needed a unique buyer willing to embrace those quirks for the privilege of living in such a beautiful home. Betty’s clever marketing and contacts within the industry resulted in multiple offers and more traffic then other homes in the category. People thought we were crazy to accept a VA buyer for that home but Betty’s expertise and teamwork with the buyer’s agent made the process fairly seamless. We closed the deal within 30 days, unheard of for VA deals. Betty’s resourcefulness in handling a last minute concern by the lender about a floor joist in the barn still makes me smile. If you want an agent who thinks out of the box, problem solves and doesn’t just go through the motions, hire Betty!

I know Betty had to have had other clients but I never felt like it. I greatly appreciated her attention and responsiveness. Betty has a fantastic network too. I needed just about every extra inspection and she knew who to call and had them on site in no time. From educating me about what to look for in an older home to checking on me after the move - I felt like I had a friend in my corner!
