Her leadership roles and recognitions within various organizations highlight her contributions to the community’s progress and growth. She was appointed by Governor Brown in January 2015 to the Kern County Fair Board, and served as the Chairwoman of the Board of Directors from 2018-2021. In addition to serving as secretary on the board of directors of Latinas Lead CA, a nonpartisan PAC dedicated to getting Latinas elected and appointed to office. Additionally she served two terms as Chairwoman of the board of directors for the Kern County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She was a graduate of the inaugural class of Latina Global Leadership Institute in 2014 and a 2003 HOPE Leadership Institute graduate. In 2015 The California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce honored her with the Latina Trailblazer award.
