I moved my family to Bellingham, WA in 1996. My wife and I wanted to raise our children in a community full of opportunity and promise. I saw all the great things this area has to offer--culture and entertainment, mountains, water, a small-town community, trails, and parks. And all close to everything that Seattle and Vancouver have to offer except the traffic and population headaches.
I became the Executive Director for one of the most unique cultural and entertainment icons of this region--The Mount Baker Theatre. Under my leadership, for the next twenty-three years this historic movie palace, turned performing arts center, became the hub of entertainment for this part of the state. I guided its preservation and expansion and now, major performers and local organizations regularly utilize the three venues in this beautiful facility.
Since moving to Bellingham, my family and I have enjoyed all the great things that Bellingham and Whatcom County have to offer. In my free time, I enjoy bike riding in the county and on the miles of trails in Bellingham. I also love woodworking and have become an Allied Artist of Whatcom County. I am a long-time member and past president of the Rotary Club of Bellingham, and I have served for many years on the Bellingham Tourism Commission and Chamber of Commerce.
