About Candy
Candy Brooks was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, into an Army family and moved to the United States in 1977, settling in Florida in 1981. Growing up on acreage in Brooksville, Florida, she developed a love for the outdoors, spending her weekends exploring the state's beaches, horseback riding, and enjoying the vast state forest lands.
Candy began her career in 1998 with Ford Motor Company as a collector and skip tracer, later working as a producing branch manager for CitiFinancial. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for helping people achieve homeownership. Over the next 17 years, she excelled in banking and consumer finance, moving from teller to financial services representative, branch manager, and mortgage originator, consistently exceeding production goals while building lasting relationships with her clients. During the downturn in the real estate market, Candy worked as a grant administrator for housing and economic development grants across Florida, including administering the Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) and Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) for housing rehabilitation and economic development.
Currently, Candy is a licensed realtor and mortgage broker in Florida, bringing a unique perspective to the real estate process, from financing and rehabilitation to sales. She lives in Boca Grande with her 13-year-old son, Ian, two dogs, and three cats. Candy is an active member of her community, serving as Treasurer of the Boca Grande Area Chamber of Commerce and previously as a New Member Ambassador for the Hernando County Chamber of Commerce. She volunteers regularly in the Cape Haze and Boca Grande communities, helping with community events like spaghetti dinners, scholarship funds, and tarpon tournaments.
In her downtime, Candy enjoys island life by boating, fishing, and exploring the banyan-lined streets of Boca Grande. In 2015, she won two ladies’ tarpon tournaments. With a passion for helping others find their perfect home, whether it's on the beach, in the village of Boca Grande, or along the inter-coastal waters of the Cape Haze Peninsula, Candy is dedicated to finding the ideal property to meet her clients' needs. She is proud to call Boca Grande and the Southwest Florida coast home.
