About Carie

Carie Leon is the Broker/Owner of Iowa Realty South Lakes, where she leads a dedicated team of successful agents serving south central Iowa and northern Missouri. She specializes in properties around Rathbun Lake, both land and residential homes.
A Moravia native, Carie Leon has deep roots at Rathbun Lake. Her father worked at the Rathbun Fish Hatchery (where they lived on the premises), and her family built and operated the Crow’s Nest Restaurant and Buck Creek Cabins. After attending Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, she completed her Business Administration degree in Des Moines before embarking on her facility management career. Later, she returned to Centerville to be near family.
Carie launched her real estate career in 2021 and quickly advanced, earning her Iowa Broker’s license in 2023 and Missouri Broker’s license in 2024 and now owns her own brokerage. With a background in facilities management spanning over 15 years—including roles as Regional Manager overseeing properties across the Midwest and East Coast—Carie brings extensive knowledge of property operations, buildings, and structures that directly benefits her clients in real estate.
Carie also holds the Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES®) designation, equipping her with the expertise to guide homebuyers and sellers over 50 through major financial and lifestyle transitions. In addition, her passion for home renovation is reflected in her hands-on experience renovating homes in Des Moines, Waukee, Connecticut, and Centerville. She is committed to uncovering forgotten properties and transforming them into dream homes for families in the community.

Carie it's pretty good at her job, she does what you'd expect a realtor to do but I would like to point out that she services an area that is mostly rural and thus when she shows you a house, it's quite the distance away from her office almost always. Polite, courteous, and willing to be real with you more so than to just sell a house. I'd recommend for sure.
