Carissa Coats

Born and raised in West Jordan, Utah, Carissa came to the Idaho Falls area working as a news producer and reporter for KIFI-TV. Here she learned so much about the community, built lasting relationships and experienced once in a lifetime opportunities like flying in a hot air balloon across the Tetons and being tased as part of the Idaho Falls citizens police academy.

She graduated with an Associate of Science Degree from the College of Eastern Utah and a Bachelors of Science in Communications from Southern Utah University.

Carissa and her husband Michael live in Ammon with their 4 children, including a set of twins, and their dog who thinks he deserves just as much attention. She believes her children are her biggest accomplishment and is striving to help make this world a better place for them.

She spends the majority of her afternoons driving her children to all of their social engagements, but will always find time to cook, spend time in the garden, start crafts she rarely finishes and hide from everyone with a good book and a candy bar.
