About Caroline

Caroline Ericksen is originally from Annapolis, Maryland but has lived for over 25 years in the Carolinas. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Classics, Philosophy, and Religion from Mary Washington College. In addition, she earned a master’s degree in Biomedical Ethics at the University of South Carolina. She has called the mountains of Western North Carolina home since 1994.

Caroline lives in Flat Rock, NC but has worked all over Western North Carolina and the Upstate of South Carolina as a professional event planner and fundraiser for non-profits such as the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, and Carolina Day School. In addition to her career in Development, Caroline has taught both Philosophy and Ethics at the college level for over 20 years. Caroline has always been involved in the arts—from performing in musical theatre to running her own dance business for over 15 years. Caroline is the proud mom of her twin son and daughter, and twelve-year-old schnauzer. She is newly married to Michael Ericksen, a second-grade teacher at Mills River Elementary School.

When she is not working Caroline enjoys attending St. John in the Wilderness Episcopal and Grace Lutheran Churches, playing trivia, listening to live music, and dancing. The personal passion that brings balance to her life is spending quality time with friends and family—especially sharing a delicious meal and laughter! Caroline loves to travel and recently cruised Hawaii on her honeymoon.
